The sale failed – young bicycle thieves fell into a police trap

Three 13-year-old boys are likely to have considered themselves particularly clever: They first stole two expensive bicycles at the Ybbs train station in the Melk district in order to sell at least one of them online the next day. But the father of one of the victims noticed that

“This is definitely my son’s bike!” The man was amazed when he discovered his child’s (13) child’s bike stolen the day before on the online platform “Willhaben”. He immediately contacted the seller and arranged a meeting. Before that, he informed the police. The officers, who had already been informed of the theft through a complaint, accompanied the family man – but stayed at a safe distance for the time being.

Trio confessed
Then the surprise: three 13-year-olds appeared as salespeople and the police intervened. At first, the trio made contradicting statements, but then confessed to the theft. The second bicycle was also found in one of the boys’ gardens. The loot was returned to their owners.
