The Scott Brothers: Chad Michael Murray should have played another role!

More than ten years after the end of “The Brothers Scott”, the interpreters of Haley, Brooke and Peyton continue to reveal secrets behind the scenes of the series. And according to their information, Chad Michael Murray could have not played Lucas Scott.

Almost 20 years after the broadcast of its first episode, Les Frères Scott remains a cult series today. And over the seasons and the different plots, fans of this fiction for teens have learned to love each of the characters, as well as the actors who played them.

It is therefore difficult today to imagine that other actors could have portrayed these characters. And yet, like any self-respecting series, casting changes took place, and this, until the last moment. Thus, the character of Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) did not exist in the original pilot, Lucas’ best friend to be played by Samantha Shelton.

And that’s not the only change that took place before the series launched. Hilarie Burton Morgan, Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz revealed in their podcast “Drama Queens” that Chad Michael Murray, the interpreter of Lucas Scott, could have played another character in the series.

Originally, Mark Schwahn, the creator of the Scott Brothers, wanted the actor to lend his features to Nathan Scott, played in the series by James Lafferty. But Chad Michael Murray would have refused. Still according to the words of the three actresses, the interpreter of Lucas Scott, who was known for his bad boy roles in Dawson and Gilmore Girls, wanted to break with this image which was beginning to stick to his skin by playing a nice character, amateur of literature and raised by a single mother.

And if it is difficult to imagine him in a role other than the one that made him known to the general public, viewers were able to get a glimpse of what the series would have been like if the roles had been reversed.

In episode 20 of season 2, Nathan, who is in a coma from his car accident, dreams of what would have happened if Dan had chosen to stay with Karen, rather than marry Deb. The opportunity to discover Chad Michael Murray in the skin of the “bad” brother.
