the sector denounces a draft decree centered on nursing homes

Home help professionals denounced Monday, in an open letter to the government, a draft decree aimed at entrusting nursing homes with a role of coordinator for the follow-up of the elderly who live at home while receiving aid.

This draft decree follows a measure of the social security financing bill (PLFSS) 2022 which provides for the assignment of a territorial resource center mission to certain nursing homes, selected by application.

This mission, with specific funding, will consist on the one hand of supporting local professionals working with the elderly, according to working documents consulted by AFP. On the other hand, it will be a question of offering services intended for the elderly in the area and their carers, in particular to enable them to benefit from reinforced support at home.

How can we justify that the 200,000 employees who intervene daily in the homes of the French and French should be coordinated exclusively by actors who, until now, were not or little involved in this care?, questioned in an open letter four home help federations (Adedom, ADMR, Fnaafp/CSF, UNA).

It’s disconcerting, commented to AFP Vincent Vincentelli, head of regulation at the National Union for Aid, Care and Home Services (UNA). We do without home services for the home turnaround.

The knowledge of the public and the expertise of the home, it is we who have it, underlines with AFP Jrme Perrin, director of development at the National Union ADMR. It seems serious to us to exclude home services from a subject that concerns them in the first place.

These organizations deplore a lack of government consultation for this project. They are now asking that the future decree allow home help actors to apply, like nursing homes, to become a territorial resource center.

Contact by AFP, the office of the Minister in charge of Autonomy, Brigitte Bourguignon, was not able to react immediately.
