the Snat adopts the text, suspense for the vote the Assembly

The Senate, majority on the right, adopted Thursday morning, before the last eagerly awaited stage in the National Assembly, the compromise text on the pension reform which entails the decline of 64 years of the starting age.

In a hemicycle, which has regained its calm compared to the past fortnight, the vote was won by 193 votes against 114, after a session of one hour and three quarters.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of the LR and centrist groups voted in favor of the reform, adding their voices to the majority RDPI groups Renaissance and Independents. But 6 LR senators nevertheless voted against, as did 7 centrists. 19 LR senators abstained, as well as 13 centrists. At first reading on Saturday, the Senate adopted the text with two more votes.

Suspension for the Assembly vote

All eyes are now on the Palais Bourbon, which holds the key to the final adoption of the text. His fate will be decided from 3:00 p.m.

At the end of the CMP (commission mixte paritaire) and through a new transfer of rates between the AT-MP branch and the old-age branch, the balance of our pension system in 2030 is guaranteed, assured the Minister of Public Accounts Gabriel Attal. This pension reform is also that of the Senate and of the senators, he declared, welcoming the fruit of a patiently constructed political compromise.

With 74 hours of discussion in the Assembly and 102 hours in the Senate, the debate took place, for his part estimated the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt for whom the text was deeply enriched day after day and over the course of the discussion.

We are aware that this text marks a step and must be accompanied by profound changes in the consideration of the oldest employees, said the president of the Social Affairs Committee Catherine Deroche (LR).
