Sony has recently released its Xperia 1 IV, a smartphone that brings its share of new features with its Music Pro application and its Game enhancer mode, but above all with a continuous optical zoom between 85 mm and 125 mm focal lengths. This zoom, which offers an entirely optical magnification ranging from x3.5 to x5.2, is the main novelty of this smartphone and it is now possible for us to observe it from the inside thanks to this video from the Chinese YouTube channel WekiHome .

A smartphone with easily removable components

This video offers us a complete disassembly of the Xperia 1 IV which seems to be relatively modular and easy to repair in the event of damage since the majority of the components are simply held together by screws, which is also the case for the jack socket inside the smartphones.

The Xperia 1 IV uses the same Sony IMX650 sensor that was once used on the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro. Its more powerful photo module is however not much larger than that of the Sony Xperia 1 III which could only switch between 70 mm and 105 mm.

Some obstacles remain

Sony uses glue here on the back of the smartphone as well as on the large 5000 mAh battery to keep them in place. It also seems that replacing the screen of the smartphone requires disassembly of most of the components of the phone in order to be carried out.

On the back of the screen, there is a copper ribbon that helps dissipate the heat from the chip used in the smartphone, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which tends to heat up. This chip represents a classic upgrade from the Snapdragon 888 used in the Xperia 1 III.

The Xperia 1 IV partly incorporates the technical data sheet of the Xperia 1 III and has now been available for a few days in France at the high price of 1400 euros.
