The Sparkasse emergency team warns of this attempted fraud

“There was an unauthorized login attempt to your Sparkasse account. If that was not the case, please authenticate yourself under this link: …”. An SMS with this text currently lands on many smartphones. Behind this is another nasty attack attempt, as the computer emergency team of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe warns.

The fraudulent SMS pretend to come from the Sparkasse. The website linked in the short message is a phishing site where you are supposed to enter your online banking access data, your date of birth and other personal data as well as the data of your savings bank card.

The fraudsters send these SMS to a pool of existing telephone numbers using the cluster bomb principle. There is therefore no salutation by name in the SMS. This is the same pattern as the other SMS scam we warned about here last week: Savings banks warn about this SMS – how to spot the scam.

How to react correctly

As always, delete this SMS without clicking on the link in it.

However, if you have already entered data on the phishing sites, then contact your Sparkasse immediately so that they block online banking access.

Always texting

In the past, gangsters repeatedly sent SMS with which they wanted to get Sparkasse customers to enter their login and customer data on phishing sites. In the spring, the fraudsters claimed in their SMS that customers should switch to the pushTAN 2.0 process: Attention Sparkasse customers – new scam with pushTAN 2.0. In contrast, the SMS circulating last week claimed that the registration for pushTAN 2.0 would expire and would have to be extended.
