Coach Julian Nagelsmann from Bundesliga soccer club RB Leipzig has again commented on his cancellation of Real Madrid in summer 2018. "In the end I decided against it. I was one of the candidates on a not very long list," said Nagelsmann in the "Marca" interview. After good talks with Real Director General Jose Angel Sanchez, it was agreed "that it is not the right step yet". But they stayed that way "that we will speak again in the future when Real needs a coach and I'm available," said Nagelsmann.
Real Madrid signed Julen Lopetegui as their new coach in the summer of 2018. Nagelsmann moved from TSG Hoffenheim to RB Leipzig in 2019.
