What if we had found the new Bruce Wayne. Alongside the franchise with Robert Pattinson, the DC universe is looking for its new Batman. And the hero of “Reacher” would be delighted to wear the costume again.
Alan Ritchson has already brought an iconic pop culture hero to life in Reacher, the Prime Video adaptation of Lee Child’s bestselling novels, Jack Reacher – a character that he should play for a long time to come, with filming for season 3 already underway. But the actor, whose notoriety has quickly increased thanks to the series, already has his eyes set on a possible future role: Batman.

In a recent conversation during the “Post Cred” podcast, Alan Ritchson has indeed mentioned the rumors according to which he would be in the running to play Bruce Wayne, after Ben Affleck, in the new DC universe of James Gunn and Peter Safran – and therefore in The Brave and The Bold, the film which will be dedicated to the character. Without hesitation, the comedian revealed that he would “absolutely love” the opportunity to don the cape of the Dark Knight.
“The fact that people are interested in seeing me play Batman is a true honor and privilege“, did he declare. “He’s one of the first characters I fell in love with as a kid: I still remember the big, long gun sticking out of the Joker’s pants as he went to shoot down the Batplane.”
“These iconic moments really resonated with me as a child. For there to be even one conversation or rumor surrounding this role, for me…all I can do is laugh“, he added. “I just think it’s crazy that we’re here. I would love. I would absolutely love it.”

From Aquaman to Batman?
Alan Ritchson is no stranger to the world of DC comic book heroes since he previously lent his features to Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, in Smallville, the long-running series about Superman’s youth from the CW. The actor also played Hank Hall, aka Hawk, in Titans.

You know, regardless of the DC cinematic universe of James Gunn, we will also be treated to a sequel to Matt Reeves’ The Batman, while Robert Pattinson is about to return as the hero. The Batman II should see the light of day in 2025. On the Joker side, Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga will be starring in Joker: Folie à Deux, on October 2, 2024.
With all these other projects lined up, it will therefore be a while before we see who ends up being chosen to play Batman in the new DCU. The character is expected to debut in The Brave and the Bold which will focus on the relationship between Batman and Robin. The film does not currently have a set release date. In the meantime, perhaps Batman will appear in the next Superman: Legacy which hits our screens on July 9, 2025? To be continued…
