We had to be patient, but the Steam Deck is finally directly offered for sale! Valve has just announced the good news with a little surprise as a bonus.

Indeed, the famous long-awaited docking station is also making its debut this week.

Finally sufficient stocks?

Since its launch last February, the Steam Deck could only be obtained by players by making an online reservation. Buyers then received an email that allowed them to validate their order. A method put in place by Valve in order to avoid excessive shortages. This Friday, the American firm formalizes the end of this system.

Indeed, the reservation is no longer necessary to buy a Steam Deck. At the time of writing these lines, only the 64 GB version (at 419 euros) is not yet available for direct sale. On the other hand, the 256 GB and 512 GB iterations now ship within one to two weeks. Payment is therefore made immediately once the order has been validated.

A little new one points the tip of his nose

Valve is also taking this golden opportunity to launch the docking station for its Steam Deck. It is sold at 99 euros and will also be delivered within one to two weeks. This optional accessory makes it possible in particular to connect the machine to an external screen and also serves as a storage support.

The station is equipped with three USB 3.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0, an Ethernet port and a USB-C connector (with adjustable length) directly connected to the Steam Deck. A charging cable with a length of 1.5 meters is supplied. In short, we can finally say that Valve’s baby is well and truly launched!
