The stock exchange day: Japanese stock exchanges start lively in a short week

The Japanese stock markets are coming out of the holiday-related long weekend with clear gains. The Nikkei index, which comprises 225 values, increased by 1.82 percent to 22,744 points. The broader Topix index even rose by 1.98 percent. That's the biggest increase in a week. Market participants attribute this to speculation on an agreement on further corona aid in the USA. In foreign exchange trading in the Far East, the euro increased slightly by 0.06 percent and costs 1.1743 dollars.
