The stock exchange day: US economic downturn affects Asian stock exchanges

The Tokyo Stock Exchange does that strong yen as a result of the slump in the US economy in the corona crisis. The search for safe investments caused the rate of the Japanese currency to rise, which further burdened domestic export values. Weak profits from semiconductor manufacturer Advantest are also putting pressure on investors.

The 225 values Nikkei index fell 1.87 percent to 21,921 points during the day. The broader Topix index fell 1.8 percent to 1512 points. Trading on other Asian stock exchanges was similar. Despite a positive start at the start of trading, the MSCI index for equities outside of Japan turned negative late in the morning and fell 0.2 percent. The courses also fell in China.
