The stock market day: Despite rising corona numbers: Asian investors cling to hope

The Asian stock markets are working towards one Four-month high high. Investors clung to despite the record increases in Coronavirus case numbers persistent in the prospects of successfully reopening the economy. Several US states reported an increase in infections of up to 50 percent and the death toll in Latin America exceeded 100,000. The markets assume that the bar must be set very high in order to close the economy again, so that the impact on business activity will not be too great at the moment – at least for now.

The Tokyo stock exchange was initially mixed. The 225 values Nikkei-Index was 0.1 percent higher at 22,577 points. The broader Topix-Index dropped 0.6 percent to 1578 points. The stock exchange in Shanghai was 0.3 percent up. The index of the major companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen gained 0.3 percent. Of the MSCI-Index for Asian stocks outside of Japan rose 1.4 percent.
