Oil prices go up
Oil prices went up again in the morning. A barrel (159 liters) of the North Sea variety Brent was $ 74.63. That was 62 cents more than on Thursday. The price for a barrel of the American variety West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rose 67 cents to $ 71.25.
Overall, oil prices have risen significantly this week. The decisive factor was the positively received news about the new Corona variant Omikron. On the other hand, crude oil prices came under considerable pressure after the particularly contagious variant appeared at the end of November. So far, only about half of these losses have been made up.
