The US aircraft manufacturer Boeing will miss its production target for the blockbuster 737 again this year due to problems with a supplier. The Airbus rival cut its target from 400 to 450 deliveries for the short- and medium-haul aircraft to 375 to 400.
The latest in a series of production problems occurred at supplier Spirit AeroSystems, which makes the fuselage for the Boeing 737 MAX 8. It was about incorrectly drilled holes in the rear pressure bulkhead. Boeing had to scale back its 737 production target last year due to supply chain problems and labor shortages.
