The Super Bowl comes to Rocket League with the return of Gridiron mode

Each year, the Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event in the United States. In support, Rocket League has decided to reflect the colors of the NFL Finals for a week with a special event.

For a whole week, from February 9 to 16the players of Rocket League will have the opportunity to participate at a special in-game event in honor of the Super Bowl. For the occasion, Gridiron mode returns, in a slightly modified version.

As for the rules of this mode, here they are:

  • Two teams of 4 players.

  • The standard balloon is replaced by an American football.

  • By touching it, it clings to the roof of your car.

  • As soon as a player touches the ball, he becomes its owner. He can make a pass or get caught by opponents.

  • To do a double jump loses the ball.

  • Goals are worth 3 or 7 dots

    • 3 points when the ball alone crosses the line.

    • 7 points when the ball crosses the line hooked to a player.

To accompany the Gridiron mode, special challenges will also be set up and will allow you to earn XP but also NFL wheels as well as the “Field General” player title. Psyonix also offers an NFL Fan Pass in the Item Shop of Rocket League, which will allow you to obtain cosmetics in the colors of the Super Bowl.
