Apple Arcade is welcoming a new game that could strike a nostalgic chord for many gamers.
Back to the mid-90s, to a time when the Super Nintendo (or Mega Drive) was perhaps plugged into your bedroom, and during which you were eyeing the new releases to come, including the PlayStation, the Pokémon license or even: the Tamagotchis. In fact, it was at the end of 1996 that this virtual pet would be launched by Bandai.
Tamagotchi, remember?
The Tamagotchi quickly became a huge success all over the world, and the prospect of adopting a virtual pet appealed to all generations. And even if, almost 30 years later, the Tamagotchi madness is no more, the phenomenon still offers yet another return, in 2024… on Apple Arcade!
Indeed, from now on, the Apple Arcade catalog welcomes a slew of new games, starting with Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom, published by Bandai Namco. The publisher promises “ an epic, enriching and nostalgic journey ”, and an experience that aims to be “ comforting “.
Tamagotchi (again) back, at Apple
In this new mobile game, players are invited to follow the adventures of Mametchi, and to evolve in a kingdom, opening the way to original landscapes, but also (and above all!) to nearly 300 adorable Tamagotchi characters to discover.
Players are obviously invited to build their cozy camp in the open air, and make it as pleasant and comfortable as possible to accommodate all the characters. To this will be added numerous activities (fishing, cooking, interior decoration, etc.), and regular updates which will try to capture the attention of players over the weeks/months.
Note that the Tamagotchi license has always been present on the video game market since 1997, with games on Game Boy, PC, Nintendo DS, Wii and more recently on iOS and Android.
The new Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and Apple TV.
