The TV from the RTL series “Der Lehrer” is sealed. There won’t be any new episodes.
The TV series “The Teacher” does not get a tenth season. The broadcaster RTL announced on Wednesday (April 14th). To the reasons explained RTL fiction boss Hauke Bartel (born 1985) on Instagram: “Cross-country series have an increasingly difficult time with the fragmented and diverse range of strong content.” The time has now come to “say goodbye to the ‘teacher'”. The last episode of the series flickered across the screen on April 8, 2021.
Actor Hendrik Duryn (53) played the leading role as teacher Stefan Vollmer for years. In season nine, Simon Böer (46) finally took over. Bartel praised: “Simon Böer and Hendrik Duryn, with their teacher characters, were the foundation of the series – supported by an extremely strong ensemble that has been loved over the years.” “The Teacher” was also well received by the audience. In 2009, the format was awarded the German Television Prize for “Best Series”, and in 2014 the German Comedy Prize for “Best Comedy Series” was also awarded.
