The temporary work sector now targets seniors to aim for full employment

With the aftermath of the Covid crisis erased, the sector believes it can play a role in achieving this objective.

It is not because traditional employment is doing well that temporary work suffers. On the contrary, the sector has benefited from the general upturn observed on the job market in 2022, according to the annual report of Prism’emploi, the organization of professionals in the sector, published on Tuesday.

With 784,900 full-time equivalents, temporary work increased by 5.1% over one year. It even exceeds its pre-crisis level by 2.6% (end of 2019). The interim may well be a leading indicator of the situation, the time is not for triumphalism. A period of inflation and stagnant growth is ahead of us. As for the challenges of our economy, there will be many in 2023, ranging from competitiveness to skills shortages, including the employment of seniors, which will have to be enhanced in the context of pension reform.
