Will you take a bit of Chris Pratt again? In any case, this is what Amazon Prime Video thinks, which has just renewed The Terminal List for a season 2. This action series will also have the right to a prequel centered on the character played by Taylor Kitsch.
Amazon gets a new franchise
Adapted from the eponymous novel by Jack Carr released in 2018 and written by David DiGillio (Traveler: enemies of the state, Strange Angel), The Terminal List follows the story of a Navy SEAL, the sole survivor of his platoon. Back home with serious psychological consequences, he will realize that dark forces want his life, as well as that of those he loves.
- Watch the series trailer:
We agree, the series is far from recounting the most revolutionary history in the world. But The Terminal List does quite well in its genre and turns out to be a nervous and effective program thanks to an astonishing Chris Pratt and a beautiful staging, signed among others by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) and Frederick E. O. Toye (The Boys, watch men).
The Terminal List enjoyed critical and public acclaim on the Prime Video platform with more than 1.1 billion minutes watched over its eight episodes. It is therefore normal that Amazon wants to make this success profitable by developing a franchise around the series.
In addition to the confirmation of a season 2, a spin-off series centered on Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights, John Carter) is also in development. It will take place before the events of The Terminal List and will see the appearance of other characters from the original novel.
So little information is known about this still untitled spin-off, our colleagues from Deadline report that it will be “a sophisticated spy thriller” which follows Ben Edwards’ journey from Navy SEAL to CIA paramilitary operator, exploring the darker side of war and the human cost that comes with it. An entire program.
No release date has yet been announced for season 2 of The Terminal List and its prequel series, but Digital will of course keep you informed.
