The first work by bestselling author Sebastian Fitzek will be shown as a series on Amazon Prime Video in 2022.

Sebastian Fitzek’s (49) debut novel “The Therapy” from 2006 will be made into a film. The story is to be seen in the coming year as a six-part mystery thriller series on Amazon Prime Video. The streaming service announced this on July 1st. A psychiatrist has to deal with the mysterious disappearance of his daughter, whose fate has been unclear for years. According to a communication, filming is planned for early 2022.

“As the work that helped my breakthrough as an author, my first novel always has a very special place in my heart,” explains Fitzek in a statement. Alexander Rümelin, among others, is working on the script, while Regina Ziegler and Barbara Thielen produce the whole thing. It is currently unknown who will direct or play along.

Another series announced

The Amazon Studios have also announced another German production. The comedy series “Love Addicts” is all about the love life of four twenties in Hamburg. A total of eight half-hour episodes will also be shown from 2022. Who will take on the roles of the main characters Dennis, Nele, Mo and Katrin has not yet been announced. It is also unknown who takes a seat on the director’s chair.
