The manufacturer of the food processor specifies that this risk is more likely “if the recommended fill level is exceeded“, and if the measuring cup is used on models “from previous generations“. When cooking exceeds 95°C, Vorwerk recommends the use of the cooking basket “instead of the TM6 measuring cup, which is firmly attached to the lid“. A previous model of the robot-cooker was pinned for burn risks by consumer associations and by the Fraud Repression (DGCCRF). In 2018, the Australian courts fined Vorwerk more than 4 million Australian dollars after dozens of burns caused by leaking liquid or food while cooking on the Thermomix TM31. This same model had been the subject of a seal replacement campaign in 2014.
