Thunderbird has just welcomed a plethora of new options, some of which were particularly expected. This is an opportunity to maximize your productivity, benefit from more intuitive visual cues and get closer to the contacts you often interact with.
Thunderbird 102: a version at the service of your productivity
Just a few hours ago, version 102 of Thunderbird went live. And the least we can say is that it wants to be particularly generous in terms of novelties. For starters, the address book has received a makeover and now offers a cleaner visual presentation. It has also been made compatible with the vCard standard which allows saving and exporting contacts as virtual cards.
Among the new features present in this version 102 of Thunderbird, we also discover a header system that has been partially redesigned. You can indeed customize the header of your e-mails in order to specifically choose the information you want to appear. It is also possible to add important messages from the header to convert them into a calendar or task event.
In Thunderbird 102, you can now have a customizable sidebar “Spaces” toolbar that provides quicker access to important activities than in the past. So, navigating between your e-mails, address book or calendar has never been easier and faster.
Always more novelties (and practicality)
In the past, the maneuver to move accounts and data to and/or from Thunderbird could be particularly tedious. Indeed, this required the installation of additional modules. Rest assured, this is now ancient history, since the import/export wizard has just been natively integrated into the application. Finally, note that the Thunderbird message service now supports the Matrix chat protocol.
This is a very complete update that should greatly delight users of Mozilla’s email client. In addition, the foundation promises us more features to come in the coming months.
