The town hall of Lille requests the cancellation of a concert by rapper Millésime K

After being banned from performing in Grenoble in early March, the controversial far-right rapper sees his concert in Lille compromised.

In Lille, Millésime K. is not welcome. Tuesday, March 21, Martine Aubry, the socialist mayor of the city, called on the prefecture, asking for a ban on a concert by the controversial rapper planned in the city on Saturday evening, AFP learned from the town hall. The rapper, with more than 700,000 subscribers on TikTok, is known for his songs close to far-right positions.

This is not the first time that one of his concerts has been threatened. Already on March 10, when he was to begin, near Grenoble, a tour entitled Patriot, with about twenty dates throughout France, his concert was canceled. The reason ? Several unions and anti-fascist organizations had mobilized, denouncing the rapper’s remarks. “Far-right aggression and terrorism are on the rise everywhere and the words of Millésime K. clearly incite it, it is time to stop it”they said.

One of the managers of the Isérois center, where the concert was to be held, explained to AFP that she had been deceived by the approach “dishonest” of the rapper, who would have presented himself as being a company of“corporate event”and had therefore broken the contract.

A few days later, near Lyon, another of his concerts almost suffered the same fate. Several organizations, including the NPA 69 party and elected environmentalists, demanded that the Rhône prefecture cancel the event. Finally, the concert was well held in Chasselay on Saturday March 11, but “under surveillance”reported Progress .

After being banned from representation in several cities, the far-right rapper will still have to perform in Marseille, Montpellier, Strasbourg or even Paris.
