Streaming giant Netflix will publish a documentary about Formula 1 record world champion Michael Schumacher in a few weeks. The portrait “SCHUMACHER” will be shown exclusively on Netflix from September 15 and is the only film that is supported by his family.
His wife Corinna Schumacher and their two children Gina and Mick, currently Formula 1 drivers at Haas, will speak for the first time about their husband and father in “very personal interviews”, according to a statement. His father and brother Ralf as well as many other companions also have their say.
Trailer arouses anticipation among the fans
Now Netflix has already released the first trailer. And every Schumi fan immediately feels like more. You can see pictures from his beginnings as a child and interview excerpts from himself.
It is touching when his wife Corinna says: “The mentally strong one, he just has that. Even today, he shows me extremely strong, every day actually how strong he is. “
Big pressure on production
“The documentary was a great challenge and required a lot of time and sensitivity, considering the external pressure on the production,” said producer Benjamin Seikel.
With seven world championship titles, Schumacher is the record holder alongside Lewis Hamilton, and the now 52-year-old celebrated a total of 91 victories in the premier class. In 2013, Schumacher had a serious accident on a ski trip. Since then, he has been fighting for his recovery, shielded from the public. (sid / sme)
