The Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra controller for PC and Xbox accommodates a real screen

The manufacturer Turtle Beach has just launched its new Stealth Ultra controller, a peripheral which ultimately bears its name very poorly since it risks having all eyes on it, and this for a very simple reason: it is equipped with a real screen.

Unlike the electronic display of the RoG Raikiri Pro, this one is capable of displaying a lot of information. Thanks to this color screen, players will be able to modify the color of the rays of light running on the controller, a gamer model required. They will also be able to adjust the audio parameters (volume, equalization) and some options for their controllers (adjusting the stick dead zone, vibration intensity, etc.). Those most addicted to networks can even pair the controller with their smartphone to be sure not to miss any notifications.

This screen is not the only asset of the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra, which uses 2.4 GHz wifi to communicate with the PC, but also a cable to be connected to an Xbox. The technical sheet promises, for example, Hall effect sticks. This technology, based on magnetism, avoids the phenomenon of drift that die-hard gamers are familiar with. Still in the components section, the manufacturer has equipped its new flagship with mechanical microswitches for the front buttons and the directional cross. These connectors may well exasperate competing players and immediate neighbors – due to the incessant “click click click” they cause – but they offer very pleasant sensations to the owner of the controller and increased precision for directions: a real plus in gaming versus fighting kind Street Fighter. On the other hand, the four triggers remain completely classic, even if the travel of the analog pair can be shortened.

As is very often the case for pro-gamer controllers, the user has paddles on the back of the pad (four on the Stealth Ultra), to which he can associate an action button. To do this, you will need to use customization software called Control Center 2 available on Windows of course, but also iOS and Android. From this interface, the player will be able to remap his keys, manage the dead zone of the analog triggers, modify the response curve of the sticks and many other things: nothing but very usual for this type of product. On the other hand, the Pro-Aim function is a little more original: according to the manufacturer, “when the Pro-Aim button is held down, the sensitivity of the right stick decreases to the set level. The higher the level selected, the greater the reduction in sensitivity will be“. It is therefore very likely that everyone will be able to precisely modulate this Pro-Aim function using the Control Center 2 software.

Finally, the Turtle Beach Stealth controller comes with numerous accessories, including a long USB–USB-C cable, two pairs of stick caps, a fast charging base (2 hours of charge for 30 hours of battery life promised) and a very well thought-out rigid carrying case. In fact, it can accommodate the base provided, to which you simply need to connect the cable via a hole in the cover; a solution which is reminiscent of the official Xbox Elite Serie 2 controller.
