The unluckiest backdoor in LoL history

Have you heard of our lord and savior Lord xPeke? If that name isn’t familiar to you, then you’ve probably missed one of the most famous plays in the League of Legends competitive scene, a backdoor so legendary it now bears that player’s name. Doing an “xPeke” consists of crashing into the Nexus under the distraught gaze of the opposing team, who then seem unable to stop the thing.

And, sometimes, although we consider the move as an achievement, it is just the best decision to make. Run straight, hit the Nexus, win the game…simple, right?

That’s no doubt what this Tryndamere thought to himself before realizing he was the unluckiest player in League history…

bad luck

Watch this little Tryndamere scurrying towards the Nexus as his team engages in a teamfight — a teamfight that’s probably a losing one, at least in his mind. In such situations, any player is faced with a choice that is sometimes difficult to make: support his team, and risk a group defeat, or attempt an isolated action that often has little chance of success.

And it is this second option that the Barbarian King has chosen. Plunging to victory, close to grabbing it, the champion is literally one auto-attack away from ending the game…before the only destroyed Inhibitor reappears.

It’s hard to accurately qualify the degree of bad luck that this move illustrates… poor barbarian king.

First released last season, Arcane skins could return to League of Legends very soon. Rather than wait, one fan decided to create their own look and that won over the community.
