A new Fnac Darty barometer which has just been released indicates that more and more French people are choosing to repair their devices rather than buying new ones.

When your washing machine breaks down, what is your first instinct? Thinking about a purchase, or rather a repair? According to the sixth edition of the Fnac Darty After-Sales Barometer, more and more French people are leaning towards the second option.

For example, 87% of French people declared in 2018 that they had purchased a new washing machine due to a breakdown of their old product compared to 77% in 2023, a drop of 10 points. ”, it is thus explained. Over the same period, the contingent of consumers thinking of repairing their phone increased by 21%, and 36% for those whose computer broke down.
