The very large 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor is up for pre-order for €2,500

The 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 – sold under the reference LS57CG952NUXEN in France – has a 57-inch VA panel displaying a definition of 7680 x 2160 px, the equivalent of two Ultra HD monitors placed side by side. Curved over a radius of one meter (1000R), the panel supports a native refresh rate of 240 Hz with FreeSync Premium Pro compatibility, adaptive frequency technology that avoids image tearing and jerks. The manufacturer announces a native contrast of 2500:1 and a maximum brightness of 420 cd/m², but which can reach 1000 cd/m² in HDR. This panel is associated with a Mini-Led backlighting system with 2392 zones, which should make it possible to limit blooming as much as possible (halo effect around light objects on a dark background). Attention, to display the native definition at 240 Hz, you need a Radeon RX 7900 graphics card equipped with a DisplayPort 2.1 output compatible UHBR13.5 or HDMI 2.1 DSC (Display Stream Compression).

In terms of ergonomics, the foot offers a height adjustment of 12 cm, an inclination between -3 and +10° as well as a rotation of ±15°. The monitor is also compatible with VESA 100 x 100 mm mounts, but a sturdy stand will be needed for this monitor which weighs 15.4 kg without stand (19 kg with).

On the connection side, there are three HDMI inputs including one HDMI 2.1 4K / 120 VRR compatible, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB outputs to two computers (KVM function) and a headphone output. The monitor ignores USB-C and does not have speakers either. It supports two simultaneous sources and also includes a keyboard mouse switch (KVM). Finally, like any good gaming monitor, there is a lighting system (Core Lightning+) at the back.
