Last week, Vivo announced in China its new range of high-end smartphones, the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro. On this occasion, the Chinese manufacturer also unveiled a third premium smartphone, completing the trio with a strong focus on photo performance, the Vivo X90 Pro Plus.

This smartphone differs from the other two models by a particularly complete photo module, always designed in close collaboration with the Zeiss teams. We will therefore find a rear photo module with four cameras:

  • Wide-angle camera with Sony IMX 989 type 1-inch 50-megapixel photo sensor, lens opening at f/1.75;
  • Ultra-wide-angle camera with 48-megapixel Sony IMX 598 sensor, 114° lens field of view;
  • 2x optical zoom device with 50-megapixel Sony IMX 758 sensor, 50mm equivalent photo lens opening at f/1.6;
  • 3.5x optical zoom camera with 64 megapixel sensor, 90mm equivalent lens.

Vivo has not shared all the features of its photo module. We do not know, for example, the focal length of the main wide-angle lens, just like the focal aperture of the x3.5 zoom which should also allow, according to the manufacturer, a digital zoom that can go up to x100 thanks to the definition of the sensor. 64 megapixels. Note also that three of the four devices are optically stabilized – with the exception of the ultra wide-angle – which should significantly reduce motion blur.

High-end features

For other features, the Vivo X90 Pro plus features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, recently announced by the equipment manufacturer. There are also 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage in UFS 4.0. For the battery, the smartphone benefits from a 4700 mAh battery and compatibility with Vivo fast charging up to 80 W wired and up to 50 W wireless.

As often with high-end smartphones, the Vivo X90 Pro Plus is however a beautiful baby with a weight of 221 grams on the scale. It must be said that it has a large 6.78-inch diagonal screen displaying a QHD + definition (1440 x 3200 pixels) at a 20:9 ratio and with a resolution of 517 pixels per inch. The smartphone also benefits from a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an HDR10 + compatible Oled display and Dolby Vision announced as being able to go up to a brightness of 1800 cd / m².

For now, the Vivo X90 Pro Plus has only been announced in China, where it will be available from December 6. It will be offered there from 6,500 yuan, or 863 euros excluding tax. For the time being, no marketing has been announced in Europe. When asked, Vivo France told us that it did not yet have any information to communicate on this subject.
