“The Voice of Germany” and more: The TV highlights in autumn

In autumn, TV viewers can look forward to a number of season starts of popular shows. New formats and new editions are also being launched.

The TV program heralds the autumn with some show highlights. Well-established programs start another season with new faces, other formats celebrate a comeback or receive a new edition with their regular moderators. These are the planned starts at a glance.

“The Lion’s Den”

A new season of the VOX founding show will be shown in the autumn TV programme. At the end of February this year, Judith Williams, 51, announced that she would be giving up her engagement with “The Lion’s Den”. She is not available for the fall 2023 (season 14) and spring 2024 (season 15) seasons of the start-up show. After the death of her father, she wanted to take care of her mother more. The group of investors welcomes Tijen Onaran, 38, as the new lioness in the 14th season “Lion’s Cave”, which can be seen from August 28 (8:15 p.m. on VOX, also on RTL +).

“Us Against Them! The Sibling Show”

A new format is starting at ProSieben: comedienne Carolin Kebekus, 43, and brother David Kebekus, 39, compete against prominent siblings in their own format “Wir gegen die! The sibling show”. In six rounds each, the family members have to prove themselves as a team and fight for the honor of the siblings. “David and I love to play, but we don’t have anything to give away,” says Carolin Kebekus in a statement. “I really love everything about this show! Finally a children’s birthday party again, just for adults!” Jeannine Michaelsen, 41, leads through the ProSieben show, which will be broadcast on ProSieben on Tuesdays, August 29, at 8:15 p.m.

“The Quiz Taxi”

A popular guessing show on the road is coming back to television: Kabel eins is launching a new edition of the TV show “Quiz Taxi” in autumn with moderator Thomas Hackenberg, 61, who also acts as a taxi driver and quiz master. The format was broadcast on kabel eins from 2006 to 2008. In the show, the candidates as taxi customers have the opportunity to win money during their journey by answering questions from various areas of knowledge. The prize money increases with the number of questions. In addition, the candidates have the opportunity to use jokers – such as the passer-by joker. The new episodes will start on TV on September 4th. There will also be a spin-off on Joyn starting September 18 with social media star Amar.

“The Voice of Germany”

With Shirin David, 28, Ronan Keating, 46, Giovanni Zarrella, 45, and Bill and Tom Kaulitz (both 33), five stars are sitting in the 13th season of “The Voice of Germany” for the first time on the buzzer in front of the red chair . From September 21, 2023, the show will be shown every Thursday on ProSieben and on Fridays on Sat.1. Keating previously served as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor. In 2017, David sat next to Dieter Bohlen, 69, in the 14th season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. Tom and Bill Kaulitz also bring “DSDS” jury experience. “The Voice of Germany” will again be moderated by Melissa Khalaj, 34, and Thore Schölermann, 38.

“Who’s stealing the show?”

The quiz show “Who’s stealing the show?” is already in its sixth season. In season five, Winterscheidt should still prove himself against Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz, actress Jasna Fritzi Bauer, 34, and rapper Sido, 42. In the new episodes he competes against the comedian Hazel Brugger, 29, and the two actors Matthias Schweighöfer, 42, and Florian David Fitz, 48. As before, a viewer joins each episode as a wildcard candidate. On the show, the candidates have to prove themselves in a wide variety of quiz categories. Anyone who makes it to the final competes in a duel against the moderator. The winner then wins the show and is allowed to host the evening in the following edition. As before, Katrin Bauerfeind, 41, will moderate the final rounds.

“blame or cash in”

RTL gets two more shows from Stefan Raab, 56, in the program. As the broadcaster announced in early June, the quiz show “Blamieren oder Kassen” will start this fall, while “Beat the Best” will follow in 2024. Also present is Raab’s former “show intern”, moderator Elton, 52, who will lead through both shows. In the new edition of “Blamieren oder Kassieren” two celebrities compete against a studio candidate in several rounds of quizzes.

“Celebrity Big Brother”

After the anniversary season in 2022, “Celebrity Big Brother” will enter the 11th season in 2023. In December 2022, Rainer Gottwald, 56, was named the winner of the tenth season. For the first time, Sat.1 started with the show in winter. Now it should be so far in the fall. When exactly the new episodes will appear, however, is not yet certain. Sat.1 has not yet announced which celebrities will move into the famous TV container. Marlene Lufen, 52, and Jochen Schropp, 44, usually lead the show.

Dating shows “Bauer sucht Frau” and “Marriage at First Sight”

Fans of dating shows can also look forward to replenishment. The 19th season “Bauer sucht Frau” is scheduled for RTL in autumn. The tenth anniversary season of the dome show “Marriage at First Sight” will start on Sat.1 in September. New dome formats have also been in the program since August. Since August 10, ProSieben has been showing the new format “Der Heiratsmarkt”, based on the US dating show “Marriage Market”, with moderator Annemarie Carpendale. In it, singles leave the choice of partner to their parents or other family members and trust their assessments. In “My Mom, Your Dad”, which VOX shows from Tuesday, August 15, Amira Pocher, 30, helps singles in search of great love – with the help of their children.
