The Walking Dead: do you have to have seen the other series in the franchise to watch Daryl Dixon?

Which “The Walking Dead” series do you need to know to watch the “Daryl Dixon” spin-off, available on Paramount+?

Since November 10, the Daryl Dixon series has been offered exclusively in France on the Paramount+ platform.

This new series from The Walking Dead universe follows the unique adventures of the character played by Norman Reedus, propelled to France for mysterious reasons. The filming of the series took place in the Paris region, but also in emblematic places of our country.

The launch of this new series comes almost a year exactly after the broadcast of the final episode of the horror program. Since then, another spin-off has seen the light of day: entitled Dead City, this series which features Maggie and Negan takes place in Manhattan, and sees the improbable duo set out in search of Hershel – captured by a former sidekick of Negan.

In the interview he gave us, Dead City creator Eli Jorné confirmed to us that all The Walking Dead spin-offs take place in a connected timeline. Moreover, the head of the franchise Scott M. Gimple recently confided that he had a dream that all the series would cross over for a special crossover, or a twelfth season.

Despite this link which connects all the derivative productions, the series are not directly connected to each other. It is therefore entirely possible to watch Daryl Dixon without having seen a single episode of Dead City.

A viewing of the original series is however recommended, to keep in mind Daryl’s entire journey and in particular his bond of friendship with Carol (who will return in season 2, already ordered and currently being filmed).

Season 1 of Daryl Dixon can be watched every week exclusively on Paramount+.
