The Walking Dead: Norman Reedus victim of a concussion, the filming of the current season suspended

Actor Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead series, suffered a head injury during filming.

The accident took place during the recording of the last episode, on March 11 in Georgia, reports Deadline. This is not the first time that the series has been the scene of an accident. In 2017, stuntman John Bernecker died. Norman Reedus had already injured his own arm during the filming of a sequence in 2015.

However, Deadline says it’s unknown at this time whether his recent head injury, which resulted in a concussion, happened on set or backstage. The circumstances of the injuries are not yet known but a source confirmed to Deadline that Reedus, 53, went to the hospital. On the day of the accident, the 53-year-old actor had taken to social media to promote his debut novel, ‘Ravaged’, which is due out April 5.

“He is recovering and will get back to work quickly,” he said. “We can confirm that this will push the end of the series back a few days,” an AMC representative told Page Six, without disclosing further details.

The organizers of the Fandemic Tour, a convention that will take place this weekend in Atlanta and in which Norman Reedus was to participate, shared the information on Instagram. “Norman Reedus had to postpone due to an accident during filming. We send all of our thoughts and positive energy to her,” they wrote.

The 11th and final season of The Walking Dead is currently broadcast in the United States, and visible the next day in France, in the original version with subtitles on OCS. It should also be noted that the universe created by Robert Kirkman will nevertheless continue to develop afterwards since two spin-offs are planned for 2023.
