Superman will soon have to face a new but also familiar villain. Villain Lex Luthor returns in Season 3 of the DC series Superman & Lois, but his role was cast for the series with a The Walking Dead star.
- Lex Luthor is being recast for the DC series Superman & Lois.
- Instead of “Two and a Half Man” actor Jon Cryer, Michael Cudlitz will take on the role of the villain in the future.
- The official description of the new villain provides the explanation for this change.
Superman must soon face a new-old threat. The upcoming season 3 of The CW’s Superman & Lois sees The Walking Dead star Michael Cudlitz recast as villain Lex Luthor.
Since 2019, “Two and a Half Men” actor Jon Cryer has played the villain in the Arrowverse. With his first appearance in the hit series “Supergirl” he played Lex, later also in “The Flash” and other DC series. For “Superman & Lois” he is now replaced by Cudlitz.
Cudlitz embodied fan favorite Abraham Ford in “The Walking Dead” from 2014 to 2018. The reason for this change is provided by the series creators with the official description of the new Lex Luther.
He is known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp. But secretly, the criminal underworld knows who Lex really is: a brutal psychopath. When Lex debuts on the show, it will be years since he disappeared from public view. He reappears, hell-bent on righting a personal wrong by taking revenge on the two people he believes have wronged him – Superman and Lois Lane.
The third season “Superman & Lois” starts on March 14, 2023 on the US broadcaster “The CW”. It is not yet known when the season will start in Germany with Joyn.
