Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continues to reign supreme in the Nintendo Switch racing game market. Although a certain Chocobo GP tried to overshadow it and Disney Speedstorm will try to do the same next September, the game has been rolling on the competition since its release in April 2017. We knew since last week that wave 5 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would be out this wednesday July 12. The long wait of a few months since the release of wave 4 is now over, since you can finally discover the new circuits. Wave 5 consists, as always, of several circuits which should delight historical fans of the license. We find the Cap Koopa and Route Clair de Lune maps of the cult Mario Kart WiiRoad-trip in Los Angeles, Curves in Vancouver and Ancient Athens of Mario Kart TourOcean Liner Daisy of Mario Kart: Double-Dash and Twilight Country Super Tour. Obviously, the new circuit presented during the Nintendo Direct in June is also part of it. It’s called “Race for cleanliness” and takes place in a bathroom in which we will have the pleasure of going under water in the bathtub and hovering above the toilet. In addition to these additional circuits, the game integrates four new characters into its already fairly dense cast: Birdo, Flora Piranha, Wiggler and Kamek.
When is wave 6?
There is no doubt that these new circuits and characters should appeal to players, especially fans of old episodes of Mario Kart. The Wii episode and especially Double-Dash are among the most appreciated by the historic audience of the franchise. Remember that in addition to Wave 5, Nintendo plans to release a Wave 6 by the end of the year. To take advantage of all this additional content, you have two options.
