The British cult rockers from The Who are going on a European tour next year – and will also play a single concert in Germany.

For the first time in seven years, British cult rockers The Who are touring Europe. In 2023, concerts in Paris, Barcelona, Florence and Berlin are on the program. The latter is the only Germany stop by Pete Townshend (77), Roger Daltrey (78) and the live band from The Who. The concert in Berlin takes place on June 20, 2023 in the Waldbühne. The Who will be accompanied at the exclusive show by the Babelsberg Film Orchestra, as announced in a press release on Wednesday.

Pete Townshend calls Berlin his “favorite city”

The British alto rockers will continue their “The Who Hits Back” tour next summer, which has already taken them to more than thirty cities in the United States this year. Music from the band’s almost 60-year history is played, including the album classics “Tommy” (1969) and “Quadrophenia” (1973) as well as the 2019 recording “Who”, the band’s first studio release in 13 years.

Band leader and guitar legend Townshend said: “It’s wonderful that after such a long time we can return to Europe to play in Berlin, Paris, Barcelona and Florence, four of my favorite cities in the world”. In addition to the founding members Townshend and Daltrey, guitarist and backup singer Simon Townshend (62), keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button (51) and drummer Zak Starkey (57) will be on stage in Berlin. The orchestral arrangements are mostly by David Campbell (74). Advance sales for The Who’s only concert in Germany will start next week.
