The Witcher 3 may be almost ten years old, but it has nothing to envy of more recent graphic standards. This is particularly thanks to its next-gen patch, as well as all the love the modding community has for it. Here is a superb illustration in 8k, courtesy of Digital Dreams.
The Witcher 3 never ceases to bewitch us
Despite its age, The Witcher 3 remains a timeless masterpiece. Its open world imagined by CD Projekt RED does not lack poetry thanks to beautiful artistic direction. On a technical level, the title has remained up to date, in particular thanks to the next-gen patch aimed at PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. This update notably improved the quality of already high-quality textures, and above all implemented ray tracing.
On top of all this, modders continue to lovingly work to make it even more beautiful. We have a perfect illustration of this with this video from the Digital Dreams YouTube channel. Armed with over a hundred mods and the proprietary Beyond All Limits ReShade, the PC version of the game looks absolutely superb. Not to spoil anything, the video is shot in 8k at 60 fps for an image of impeccable clarity.
A superb trip, but not cheap
To achieve such a result, however, you must have an extremely muscular configuration. An RTX 4090 graphics card is in any case essential (and terribly expensive). For the rest, Digital Dreams indicates that the machine used has a Ryzen 9 7950x, 32 GB of DDR5 6000 MHz RAM and a powerful M.2 NVMe SSD. Such a PC is therefore clearly not within everyone’s reach.
However, this does not prevent us from enjoying this trip in the company of Geralt, quite the contrary!
