The Witcher: a romance for Dandelion in season 3?

Dandelion’s future in the long-awaited new season of the show is revealed: fulfillment and romance(s) are on the program!

Season 3 of The Witcher is almost here. On this occasion, the showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and the interpreter of the emblematic Dandelion, Joey Batey, gave some details on what we can expect from the new season.

In an interview with Netflix (via ComingSoon) ahead of the Season 3 premiere, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich indeed said that Jaskier will “flourish” this season and that the young man will fall in love with someone that fans know and who often appears in the books.

Dandelion falls in love. And he’s a character fans will know [et] which continues to appear in the books. So what happens this season between them will have repercussions for a very long time.

Joey Batey has also expressed himself on the subject, speaking of sapioromanticism (the fact of feeling a romantic attraction towards one or more individuals, essentially triggered by the intellect and the alertness of the latter (these)).

He’s living his ‘hot girl summer’ momentthe actor said, referring to the popular pop culture term introduced by rapper Megan Thee Stallion, meaning to have confidence in yourself and live your best life. “It was really rewarding to see [sa vie amoureuse] told in a very visual way. [Nous] have ensured that these romances are told with sincerity – and with sensitivity and care, without resorting to stereotypes… I hope we have created something special, a [connexion] sapioromantic and sapiosexual as flawed as any other relationship on this show.

Of course, Jaskier will always have responsibilities for which the character is not always made for, as his interpreter says, but will have to learn to manage.

He’s certainly a multi-talented man but I’m not sure he’s inherently made to be a spy. Yet he found himself in wartime, in turmoil and trying to do his best to do something right.

This season, monarchs, mages, and beasts of the continent will battle to capture Ciri (Freya Allan) whom Geralt (Henry Cavill) has driven underground, seeking to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy it. Charged with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) will lead them to the protected fortress of Aretuza where they hope to discover more of the girl’s untapped powers. But there, some big surprises await them.

As you know, this coming season will be the last with Henry Cavill about to pass the torch to Liam Hemsworth. That being said, the actor should first be entitled to a heroic farewell in the show: business to follow therefore.

Just to get you back into the swing of things before the arrival of season 3, the first two seasons of The Witcher can be seen streaming on Netflix.
