Start of the week, CD Project formalized the development of an upcoming game The Witcher. The announcement mainly highlighted the partnership between the Polish studio and Epic Gamesthe title will indeed rotate under theUnreal Engine 5but one artwork snowy was also shared.
This visual shows a medallion of Witcher partially buried under snowbut fans quickly noticed that it was not the pendant worn by the members of theSchool of the Wolf to which belongs Geralt of Rivia. Other schools are mentioned in books and video games, but the one highlighted by CD Project has already caused much ink to flow.
And for good reason, as communications director Robert Malinowski revealed to Eurogamer, this medallion represents a lynx, a feline that has never been mentioned in the saga so far. I’Lynx school does not yet exist in The Witcherat least officially, because she is present on the Fandom Wiki franchisein the category of fan fiction. Franchise enthusiasts have imagined an adventure with the Witcher Lambert and the witch Kiria Metz traveling south after the events of The Witcher 3: Wild Huntreforming theCat Schoolbut rapidly transforming it into Lynx school.
It’s hard to know if CD Project will take up these scenario bases imagined by fans or if it will go on a totally different story. The links with the adventures of Geralt are also uncertain, players would like to see Ciriothers envision an all-new saga with entirely new characters, but the devs might opt for an approach a la Cyberpunk 2077letting players create their Witcher from head to toe and follow an adventure more freely.
You will have understood it, the hunt for clues concerning the next video game The Witcher just getting started, but CD Project this time will take its time to develop this title, which has no release period, we will therefore have to make do with little in the coming months.
