The Xbox Series X and S are able to suppress all the annoying little noises from the surroundings


The Xbox Series X and Series S offer a small novelty of the most interesting for those who play on the network. It allows you to remove all those little noises from the surroundings, which can annoy other players and yourself during the game or simply when you chat with your friends.

Microsoft has just released an update for its various Xbox models. Among the new features of this update 10.0.22621.1836there is one that is reserved for players on Xbox Series X and Series S. Thanks to it, you can say goodbye to unwanted noise that occur when chatting with other players.

This feature had already been unveiled last May, but it was intended for Insiders at the time. It is now accessible to all players. It thus allows you to remove the unpleasant sounds that can be heard when you play and chat online with your friends: the clicks of the controller, the breathing of the playersbut also all the other small unbearable noises of the room in which you are located.

Xbox Series X and S automatically cancel surrounding noise

If you use Discord and its Krisp audio filters, you are familiar with this type of functionality. Even if it does not succeed in eliminating all the sounds that emanate from your environment, especially the noisiest ones, this option nevertheless allows to eradicate most of the inconveniences that can be encountered during a chat and/or a game. This feature is enabled by default. It is possible to deactivate it by going to the Party Chat functions > Settings options.

This update is accompanied by another novelty. Now when you share clips and screenshots with your friends, they can join you instantly from their PC, smartphone, or tablet. To enjoy it, just click on the new “Play” button that appears in the browser. Microsoft specifies that certain games nevertheless require a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The update, dated September 6, 2022, is currently rolling out. You may not have access to it yet. At the time of writing these lines, it is not yet referenced on Microsoft’s French support site, but only on its English-speaking page. Do not panic: the update at the international level should not take long to arrive, it is only a matter of hours.
