Xiaomi has just confirmed that the presentation of its new products will take place on October 4 at 2 p.m. The Chinese giant should officially lift the veil on the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro, but also on other devices. A few days ago, the German site WinFuture revealed a large part of the technical sheet of the two smartphones. The opportunity to see that the latter seem particularly well off.

The two mobiles would share many characteristics. They would indeed both be equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED panel displaying 2712 x 1220 pixels and offering an image refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. They would obviously house a fingerprint sensor.

Same observation for the 5000 mAh battery compatible with fast charging at 120 W. This last point remains to be confirmed, since the standard version could be satisfied with a 67 W block. The duo should also benefit from a front sensor 20-megapixel Sony IMX 595 for selfies.

The firm would have chosen a plastic finish, which seems consistent with their positioning. But the prices would have increased significantly, and they could cost 649 and 849 € respectively. At this price, some competitors display more noble materials.

The choice of SoC

It is especially under the hood that things should change. The Xiaomi 12T Pro would opt for a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 coupled with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Engraved in 4 nanometers, the chip is currently Qualcomm’s most powerful, pending the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which will be presented soon. For its part, the 12T would be satisfied with a Dimensity 8100 and 8/128 GB. Two SoCs that have proven themselves and should deliver a fluid experience in multitasking as well as in game.

With the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Qualcomm wants to improve the autonomy of the top of the range.

The Pro version would also mark a difference in photography, since it would offer a 200 Mpx wide-angle sensor, whose lens would open at f / 1.69, supported by an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle (f / 2, 2) and a 2 MP macro module (f/2.4). The standard model would be satisfied with a main sensor of 108 Mpx, and the same configuration for the rest.

We just have to wait for October 4 to confirm all this information. The differences between the two models seem consistent with regard to the price difference, but they will face serious competitors in their price range.
