New smart bracelet from Xiaomi has officially launched in China and offers some improvements, starting with a larger screen.
A year after the release of the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6, the brand is already offering the new version of its famous activity bracelet.
A slightly larger screen and several colors at launch
For this new iteration, Xiaomi does not seek to revolutionize the design of its device, which offers the same format as the previous year. We will still note that the AMOLED screen is getting a little longer this year with a 1.62 inch panel, compared to 1.52 for the old model, and 25% more display. It retains the “Always-on” functionality to display the time permanently, even when the wrist is lowered.
For the occasion, the designers of the brand have developed nearly 100 new dials, more or less sober, to display the time, but also different information such as the weather, your heart rate or the number of steps taken, between others.
Six strap colors will be offered at launch. You will have the choice between a black, green, orange, blue, pink or white model, according to your desires of the moment.
Always more focused on health and sports monitoring
Xiaomi has gone into overdrive on the sports monitoring side with no less than 120 activities integrated into the connected bracelet. The device, always waterproof, also allows you to follow your progress in swimming or in any other nautical discipline. The Sp02 sensor, which tracks blood oxygenation, has also been improved, and the Xiaomi Mi Band 7, or quite simply the Xiaomi Band 7 in our latitudes, can now notify you with a small vibration when this rate passes. below 90%.
The autonomy of the Xiaomi Band 7 is still fixed at 14 days on a single charge, but the manufacturer nevertheless warns that intensive use, in particular sports monitoring activities, drops it to nine days. A proprietary magnetic connector remains relevant for charging.
On arrival, the Xiaomi Band 7 looks more like an update than a totally disruptive new connected bracelet. In China, the product will be available in two versions, one of which has an NFC chip for contactless payment.
We do not yet know if this will be the case in France or even on what date the Xiaomi Band 7 will be released. No indication has been given on the price either. In China, the basic model will be offered at 239 yuan, or around 33 euros excluding tax.
