The Young Girl and the Night on France 2: a date for the series adapted by Guillaume Musso


The event series “La Jeune fille et la nuit”, adapted from the eponymous novel by Guillaume Musso, will be launched in October on France 2.

Sold over two million copies worldwide, La Jeune fille et la nuit is the first novel by Guillaume Musso to be adapted for television.

This event series, produced by Make it Happen Studio, MGM International Television Production and the European Alliance, will be broadcast from October 17, 2022 on France 2 and promises to take viewers on a breathtaking thriller.

Directed by Bill Eagles and written by Marston Bloom, The Maiden and Night follows the journey of Fanny, Thomas and Maxime, three once inseparable friends who have never spoken to each other since Vinca disappeared one winter night in 1996.


Although bound by a tragic secret, Thomas nevertheless decides to break the silence twenty-five years later by going to a reunion of former students. Without knowing it, he will then endanger the lives of all those around him, starting with that of his best friend Maxime.

Because that terrible night, Thomas and Maxime committed a murder and walled up the body in the high school gymnasium which will be destroyed in the coming days. How will the two friends manage to cope with the situation? Everything seems to be linked to Vinca’s disappearance. Disappearance to which Thomas still does not want to resolve.

On the casting side, Ioan Gruffudd (Liar), Grégory Fitoussi (Engrenages) and Vahina Giocante (Skam France) lend their features to Thomas, Maxime and Fanny. France 2 viewers will also find Ivanna Sakhno, Shemss Audat (Un Si Grand Soleil), Dervla Kirwan (Intimidation), Rupert Graves (Sherlock), Salóme Gunnarrsdóttir (Pennyworth), Matthias Van Khache (At your side) as well as Loyan Pons from Vier (Too young for me).
