Thea Gottschalk has discovered Instagram. She revealed in an interview who inspired her to do this.
After separating from Thomas Gottschalk (73), Thea Gottschalk (78) largely withdrew from the public eye. But since the end of February she has been posting something on her Instagram page every now and then. In an interview with the magazine “Bunte” she revealed which prominent person made her do it.
“So I thought to myself, I’ll try that now too.”
“It’s Elke Heidenreich’s fault that I started using Instagram,” says the American-by-choice, explaining how she was inspired by the 81-year-old literary expert. “I saw her on a talk show where she said that she posts on Instagram. So I thought, I’ll try that now too.”
So far, for example, she has posted pictures with plants and also a snapshot with her two sons. “My two favorite men,” she wrote. She explained to the magazine: “But I’m still at the beginning and have to learn how it works and what I can do. My girlfriend is still helping me with that.”
She was overwhelmed by the positive response: “The fact that I received so many lovely comments totally surprised and overwhelmed me. That makes me happy and is so good for my battered ego.”

Thea Gottschalk, who always attracted attention with her extravagant appearances alongside the presenter, seems to enjoy the social network. For example, she posted a selfie in which she has a tattoo on her neck that reads “Love kills slowly.”
However, that’s not real, as she emphasized in the interview: “The photo with the tattoo was fun. Years ago I always wore it somewhere on my cleavage. I’m currently cleaning out and sorting out. I found the things again and tried them out .” The tattoo means “nothing at all”. “It was the only one that still stuck – and I thought it was pretty.”
The separation of Thomas and Thea Gottschalk became known and confirmed in 2019. The two married in 1976 and had lived in a house in Malibu, California, with their two children since the early 1990s. Shortly after the separation, the former “Wetten,dass..?” star appeared with his new partner Karina Mroß (62).
