The coordinator of France Insoumise and deputy of the North returned, Tuesday, May 3 on LCI, on the great alliance of the left in view of the legislative elections.
Adrien Quatennens explained on LCI that his party was in the process of proposing “a strategic and programmatic sharing offer” to different political forces in order to constitute a majority in the National Assembly and counter, in fact, Emmanuel Macron. For him, the observation is very simple: “Everyone understands that this second round between Macron and Le Pen has prevented social and democratic ruptures. »
If EELV accepted an agreement almost immediately, the socialist party is more difficult to dredge. In question, long-time executives – Cambadélis, Le Foll – who take a dim view of this alliance. The deputy from the North admitted that “the discussion starts from further away, everyone remembers the presidential campaign”, although he said he did not lose hope: “People are told that June 12 and 19, s ‘they build a majority resulting from this popular union, we will be able to govern. »
He also added that “in the agreement with EELV, we have a shared government program. With the socialist party, the discussions on the merits, it can be more complicated, as on the disobedience to the European treaties. »
If his party has, for years, put forward a virulent criticism of the European Union, to such an extent that it would be logical for him to leave it, Adrien Quatennens tried to create a diversion: “We do not want to leave the ‘Europe […] It is impossible to carry out a social, ecological rupture, essential by respecting to the letter the European treaties […] We tell voters that if they vote for our program, we will lift blockages. »

For the Union Populaire, “if we give free rein to the EU in these treaties as they operate today, what do we have in front of us today? Is there cooperation between peoples? As for the “journalist” Taha Bouhafs, who was sentenced for incitement to hatred after having treated the policewoman Linda Kebbab of “ADS: Arabe de Service” in a tweet, the deputy found himself very embarrassed: “Taha Bouhafs has appeal this court decision […] He was sentenced because he made a regretful tweet where he called a policewoman an Arab on duty, that is to say…here… […] I believe that this expression is unfortunate, as when Yannick Jadot described Éric Zemmour as a “service Jew”; political debate can do without these qualifications. »
