Game console emulators are on the rise, and today it is the PS4 that is affected by this phenomenon. Indeed, functional software has recently been put online.

If emulation is a very common practice on PC, it is not always perfect depending on the targeted console. For example, PlayStation is a brand that is resisting this trend quite well. The first two machines from the Japanese manufacturer were brilliantly emulated, but this is not the case with the PS3, and even less so with the PS4. Fortunately, there is something new on this side.
Thanks to software called fpPS4, PlayStation 4 emulation is now a reality. The application can be downloaded here for PC users who would like to try it out. No major bugs seem to affect the gaming experience, but unfortunately there is a size restriction.
A catalog far too limited
At the time of writing these lines, 26 titles are playable via fpPS4. This mainly concerns indie games like Thomas was Alone, A Boy and His Blob or Spy Chameleon. Alas, no AAA exclusivity (understand by this “big budget”) is accessible. The god of war, Ghost of Tsushima and others The Last of Us Part II are therefore absent subscribers. As can be seen from this list, almost the entire PS4 catalog is not compatible with the emulator.
In short, to be able to play the major console exclusives on PC, it is currently mandatory to buy them on Steam or via the Epic Games Store. Indeed, Sony intends to bring all its home productions to our computers a few months after their console release.
