Passing through Drew Barrymore’s talk show this Monday, January 10, Courteney Cox spoke about the haircut she sported in the third part of Scream. If Jennifer Aniston’s hairstyles in Friends have often been acclaimed, Courteney Cox has always had a hard time embracing her mythical short bangs, as she confided during her interview. “Oh it was hell. I had forgotten her. There was nothing worse. It was really a beautiful lesson in life because this haircut is forever immortalized by the cameras“said the interpreter of Gale Weathers in the franchise.
Courteney Cox went on to explain that she was actually wearing fake bangs, which the film crew, for some reason, chose to cut very short during filming. “I said to myself ‘well, I have no more choice“, she admitted hilariously in front of her ex-husband David Arquette and Neve Campbell, the two other stars of the franchise. An anecdote more than two decades old but which the three actors still remember very well, because Neve Campbell even said he tried to reassure Courteney Cox about her look, in vain. “I felt so bad for you“, added David Arquette.
A wink for Halloween
Despite this capillary misstep, the Friends star proved a few months ago that she knew how to show a good dose of second degree. On the occasion of a Halloween party, Courteney Cox had taken her famous bangs out of the closet, to the delight of those nostalgic for the mythical horror films. “Not the bangs!“, she had written in the caption of a hilarious cliché.
