AW2723DF and AW2523HF, these are their code names, which are scheduled for release in the coming months, at a rather hefty price, Alienware requires.
AW2723DF for gaming and productivity
Let’s start with the biggest, the AW2723DF. As its name suggests, it displays a 27″ LG Nano IPS panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440, with a native refresh rate of up to 240 Hz and a gray to gray response time. of 1 ms.
This screen is also factory overclocked and can push its refresh rate up to 280 Hz if the need arises. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync, as well as HDR 600.
On the connector side, it turns out to be rather well equipped, with a DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0 port (unfortunately no 2.1 for console gaming), several USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, as well as a microphone / headphone jack.
But the element that most distinguishes these two new Alienware screens from the competition is obviously the presence of a retractable helmet holder. This is particularly ergonomic, and can be tilted, turned and adjusted in height. The monitor stand itself is not so lucky, but can be mounted on an arm if needed.
AW2523HF for competition
The smallest of the new screens from Alienware is not outdone in terms of performance, and shares with its big brother the presence of the retractable helmet holder characteristic of this range.
As its name suggests, the AW2523HF is “content” with a 25″ FHD (1,920 x 1,080) LG IPS panel, but pushes the refresh rate up to 360 Hz and the gray response time to gray up to 0.5 ms.
It also swaps AMD FreeSync Premium and G-Sync for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and drops HDR support in the process. It also differs from other screens of the brand by a hexagonal foot instead of the traditional “V” shaped foot. However, it displays connectivity as complete as the AW2723DF.
It will in any case be the first to go on sale, more precisely on September 7, at a price of 450 euros. His big brother will follow suit on October 6, with a necessarily more robust price of 650 euros.
