DECRYPTION – Paris recovered in 2022 nearly 10 billion from the European Investment Bank (EIB), an institution whose mission evolves with political priorities. It will be at the heart of Europe’s response to the American IRA.
Europe is trying to organize itself to try to respond to the American Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), this vast plan of 430 billion dollars in aid for the greening of American industry. This Monday morning, on France Inter, Bruno Le Maire, leaving for Washington, affirmed that “we are about to have this European IRA, it will be played out at the European Council in the coming days”.
Last week, the European Commission proposed to relax state aid rules and redeploy existing means to support the green transition of European industrialists.

Guidance is expected at the end of the week and decisions in March. They should in particular involve the European Investment Bank (EIB).
