Indeed, this Thursday March 21, 2024, RTL We learn that the parents of little Grégory Villemin have contacted the investigating chamber of the Dijon Court of Appeal.

Concretely, parents ask new DNA comparisons as well as a feasibility study of vocal expertise from recordings of the famous raven. The request was made in September 2023, through the lawyers of Christine and Jean-Marie Villemin. The investigating chamber therefore rendered its decision and accepted part of the requests.

New assessments soon to be carried out

Thus, the investigation will therefore make comparisons “DNA found on the cords which surrounded the child’s body, Gregory’s anorak, his chin, but also certain letters from the raven including that of October 16, 1984, the day of his death”, as specified RTL. The DNA found at the crime scene will be compared with that of several people, including Michel Villemin who is the brother of Jean-Marie Villemin. But also Guy Obertin, the brother-in-law of Bernard Laroche. And 4 other family members, namely distant cousins Bruno and Philippe Jacob and cousins ​​by marriage Bruno Bonato and Alex Dietch.

If none of these people were ever among the list of suspects, their DNA was missing in the comparisons already carried out in the past. “There is no hypothesis about this or that, but all the people who appear in the spectrum of the investigation must be controlled,” explains a source of the file to RTL before adding: “We have to go all the way.”

The culprit already identified?

And to go further, a feasibility assessment will also be carried out in order to see “what can be done in terms of voice comparison with the sealed raven voice recordings”. And for good reason, the advancement of technology could well make it possible to finally identify the crow which played a key role in this whole affair. The lawyers of the parents of little Grégory confided to RTL that the latter are “extremely grateful to justice by rendering this decision, the Dijon Court of Appeal once again showed its determination to get to the truth about this atrocious crime, the murder of their son 40 years ago.

As a reminder, François Daoust, the former director of the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie, recently revealed that he had known for a long time who was responsible for the murder of little Grégory. “Off the record, we know what happened. Officially, we can’t say it. We can’t report it, otherwise we risk being sued for defamation. But there was everything”, he revealed during an interview with Ciné-Télé-Revue. Before explaining that a procedural error prevented the arrest of the culprit.
