The request was made in September 2023, through the lawyers of Christine and Jean-Marie Villemin. The investigating chamber therefore rendered its decision and accepted part of the requests.

Thus, the investigation will therefore make comparisons “DNA found on the cords which surrounded the child’s body, Gregory’s anorak, his chin, but also certain letters from the raven including that of October 16, 1984, the day of his death”, as specified RTL. The DNA found at the crime scene will be compared with that of several people, including Michel Villemin who is the brother of Jean-Marie Villemin. But also Guy Obertin, the brother-in-law of Bernard Laroche. And 4 other family members, namely distant cousins Bruno and Philippe Jacob and cousins ​​by marriage Bruno Bonato and Alex Dietch.

If none of these people were ever among the list of suspects, their DNA was missing in the comparisons already carried out in the past. “There is no hypothesis about this or that, but all the people who appear in the spectrum of the investigation must be controlled,” explains a source of the file to RTL before adding: “We have to go all the way.”

And to go further, a feasibility assessment will also be carried out in order to see “what can be done in terms of voice comparison with the sealed raven voice recordings”.
