“They thought they were immune”: Pierre-Jean Chalençon evokes the Covid of the Bogdanoff brothers

The day after the death of Igor Bodganoff, just six days after that of his twin Grichka, Pierre-Jean Chalençon returned to their last moments on BFTMV.

A doubly bereaved family in less than a week. Their common history was remarkable, it becomes incredible. Six days after the resounding death of Grichka Bogdanoff, the death of her twin brother Igor Bogdanoff has also just been announced. This Monday, January 3, we learned that the two scientific popularizers had succumbed one after the other to Covid-19, after hospitalization which lasted a few days. Neither was vaccinated. Their disappearance has moved many personalities who have been around them for a long time. They had become popular faces in the early 1980s thanks to the show Time X. Their bonhomie and their characteristic voices had given them a certain popularity rating.

The Bodganoff brothers were not “absolutely not antivax”

Among their friends, they notably counted Pierre-Jean Chalençon, who hit the headlines during the health crisis by being sarcastic about the restrictions advocated by the government. Invited on the set of BFMTV, the collector with the characteristic style paid homage to the twins whom he knew well. He also wanted to restore the truth about their attitude towards the virus. Rumors circulated that the Bogdanoff brothers were fiercely opposed to vaccination. False, insists Pierre-Jean Chalençon. “They are absolutely not antivax. Several of their friends told them to be vaccinated. But they considered that in relation to their hygiene of life, they were not the target of the Covid”, he specifies.

Pierre-Jean Chalençon regrets that it took too long before “to tend to”

Regarding this famous healthy routine, made of a very balanced diet and sport, he adds about them that they “thought they were immune”: “They eat seeds, they don’t drink alcohol. Besides, that’s why when we invite them to dinner, they often arrive after dinner so as not to be tempted”. Finally, Pierre-Jean Chalençon believes that it is difficult to blame them for anything, except for having been too confident in the face of the disease: “A priori, they passed the baby between them. They saw each other every day, they are very close, Igor and Grichka. They caught it at the end of November, at the beginning of December. They thought it was a flu. They are remained caulked at home, but did not take care of themselves. They took care of themselves a little late (…) I think they waited too long. If they had arrived at the hospital from the start, we did not would not be there “.
